As Vice President, Human Resources, Julie’s focus is on developing and optimizing Allan Candy’s most important asset: its people. Accountable for enabling the achievement of the company’s operational and financial goals through innovative HR policies and processes, communications and employee engagement programs, Julie is also responsible for providing overall strategic direction and leadership to the Human Resources team. Specifically, she is accountable for managing the areas of organizational planning and development, talent optimization and performance, culture development and transformation, employee relations, compensation, rewards & recognition, communications, payroll, and health & safety.
Julie joined Allan Candy in February 2009 from the Consumer and Personal Care products division of Johnson & Johnson Inc. Canada, where she held the role of Senior Manager Human Resources. In this role, Julie was an integral member of the Human Resources Leadership team, and in 2008 she oversaw the implementation of key People Management Leadership Development programs and facilitated the efforts of a Global HR system implementation. In 2006, Julie was instrumental to the success of a number of strategic initiatives, such as the very successful acquisition and integration of the Pfizer Consumer Healthcare Business to Johnson & Johnson where she assumed leadership of the Change Management and Culture Transformation Team for Canada, the Talent Assessment and Organizational Development efforts of the Sales organization, and acted as the Canadian voice on the Johnson & Johnson Global Integration team. Julie went on to hold progressively more senior leadership roles, and acted as business partner for various functions, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Logistics, Regulatory Affairs, and Linguistic services while at J&J.
Julie is an experienced Human Resources leader and active member of the Professional Human Resources Association. Since joining Allan Candy, Julie has lead Allan Candy’s structural and transformational journey from a multi-national to a privately-owned working environment and mindset. She has co-lead the Collective Bargaining Agreement renewal process, renovated the Talent & Performance Management process, and launched a competitive and entirely renovated Total Compensation & Reward program.
